Mocha Dick is the name of the white whale that inspired Melville’s creation… it’s also the name of Tristan Lowe’s installation that’s been slowly making the rounds at museums around the country. It’s over 50 feet long and made entirely of felt. I’m bummed I didn’t know it was in Massachusetts (at Williams College) last summer.
